A former editor of news and current affairs for the BBC, he began directing documentaries in 1996.

Firmly placing himself in drama, Nick directed the critically acclaimed BBC series, Occupation, starring James Nesbitt. It received a BAFTA for Best Drama Serial.

Thriving on the challenge of bringing stories to life on film, Nick completed his first feature project, The Awakening, which starred Rebecca Hall, which he followed up with “Blood”, a hard-hitting psychological thriller starring Paul Bettany. ITV’s Prey was received by The Telegraph as ‘crime drama at its best’ and garnered a 2015 BAFTA nomination for best new series.

In recent news, Nick directed the opening two episodes of BBC 2’s epic eight-part series ‘The Last Kingdom’, adapted from the bestselling Bernard Cornwell ‘Saxon Stories’. Nick also co-exec produced the series, which aired in autumn 2015 to critical acclaim in the USA and UK.
